How can I improve the curb appeal of my property?

On Behalf of | Oct 3, 2022 | Real Estate Law

As everybody knows, first impressions matter. This applies whether you are on an interview, on a date or in the front of your home. Keeping the curb appeal high on your property can help you hook a buyer or a tenant.

Improving the curb appeal of your home or commercial property does not need to be expensive. According to Real Simple, you can improve your curb appeal by focusing on the entrance to the property, as well as the landscaping.

Eyes on the front door

One of the best ways to improve curb appeal is to change the color of your front door. Our eyes pick up on contrast, so having a bright yellow door against red brick is appealing. You can also go with something more traditional like black or white. But a new coat of paint on the door is inexpensive and will provide a lot of impact.

Another way to improve the appeal of the front is to change the hardware on the house. Buying some new address numbers is a quick way to jazz up the entrance of either a commercial or residential property. It is also an easy update and does not cost much money.

Landscaping

Landscaping can be expensive, but it does not have to be. For instance, you can choose to purchase some potted plants to flank the entrance of the property. It is a good idea to go for plants of varying heights, to create interest. This will make the property seem lived-in, and cared for.

Curb appeal can be a simple matter, but it provides a big impact. Whether you have a residential or commercial property, a little bit of money and time can go a long way.
